Plastic Deformation possible?

Post by skywagon »

Hello there,

I am looking for a FEM-software to simulate plastic deformation with Fluid-Structure-Interaction.
I would like to know, if Elmer FEM has a way to solve such deformation.
I would be very grateful if someone could answer my question.

Best regard,
Minjae

Calculix has much more in plastic deformation capability and it also has fluid flow. Elmer is better at fluid flow and coupling but it's plastic deformation is limited There has been some user subroutine work on plastic deformation

thank you for your reply!
Then, I will try Calculix.

calculix cae sets up a nice abaqus like interface and willl import universal files from salome with groups, groups allow the easy creatin of boundary conditions and loads

Hey hi, Yes, Elmer FEM can simulate plastic deformation, including fluid structure interaction. You can utilize Elmer finite element analysis capabilities to model and analyze plastic deformation phenomena.
