Contact elements

Hi Elmer team
I'm using the linear elasticity solver and want to be able to include contact, are there any contact elements available to be able to perform this type of analysis?

Unofortunately there is nothing generic that could be called "contact elements" in the elasticity solver. There has been some preliminary work related to some academic studies but these are to my knowledge not available in the distro.

This is the academic work I was referring to. Maybe you can ask Dr. Juntunen directly (google) as he maybe doesn't follow the forum that carefully. Anaway, this kind of work is typically not documented for the end-user and may also include some modifications in the main code. There is of course quite a bit happening outside the official distribution as with any open source code.
