Hi,
I downloaded the ElmerGUI 5.5 (rev. 3054) Intel binaries. The installation worked fine, and I can carry out the first simple simulations. I have a couple of problems with it, though:
a) When saving the project it seems to save all the files except the .xml file, which makes it impossible to load the project again.
b) I do not seem to get the option of solving the k-epsilon equations with the Navier-Stokes equations. I have tried to work around this by copying the k-epsilon commands into the sif-file from other example sif-files on the net, but I have not gotten this to work quite correctly yet.
Hope someone can help me with this.

Hi Alexc
Unfortunately this is way too old version of Elmer to start debugging. In fact where did you find such an old version? It may be that the problems would persist even in never versions since ElmerGUI is just a rudimentary interface into ElmerSolver. Many features have not been implemented there at all.

Hi, thanks for the answer. I found the binaries on
http://www.trueflaw.com/pub/elmer/page3/page3.html
It was all that came up when I tried to Google "Elmer for the mac". Can you refer me to newer binaries for the mac, or can I better run Elmer under Linux? It would be good for mac users if there was a macports implementation so we could easily install Elmer from the source.

Hi,
I also find only ElmerGUI 5.5 (rev. 3054) Intel binaries from Trueflaw? Where I can find a newer version for Mac?

Here's a series of videos on how to install Elmer.
The first one shows how to use Homebrew's gcc compiler and the second one how to install a full fledge version of Elmer with MPI and ElmeGUI
