Modification of meshing to incorporate in Elmer

Post by Sayan »

Hi,
I was trying to mesh two model beams using Gmsh...After meshing I am getting good result for natural frequency...But for further work I have to mesh it with quadratic tetrahedral finite element and number of element should be same which is 32 or may be higher..This is becoming difficult..I have attached my meshing which is showing good result but don't know how can I use quadratic tetrahedral element with same number using Gmsh...Also when incorporating from Gmsh to elmer and result is generated in excel format using paraview , node numbering or distance is starting from 9.04 like this .Is it possible to modify and start it with 0,0,0 node?

You can use the physical group options to set bodies and boundaries in gmsh

You can use the transfinite options to specify number of elements per curve, the demo shows per surface but you can also go per curve.

You can mesh, and then use set order 2, to change to higher order elements prior to saving mesh.
