Dear Peter,
Thanks for the corrected file. I will try to compile it until a new built is available. I will post the results of the test in the post.
Best regards,
Frederic

Re: Closed coil with core simulation
Dear Kevin, It does compute without warning or errors. However, here is the expected result obtained with Onelab (http://onelab.info). It provides a reasonable magnetic flux density of 0.13 T (attached to this post). Elmer gives a result that is way too small of 1.7e-5 T which arises from the small ...

Re: Closed coil with core simulation
Dear all, I have been trying for a month to solve a similar problem, a coil on an iron core surrounded by air. The log file does not show any warning message or error but it seems that the magnetic field is not computed from th reimposed current into the closed coil. Indeed, changing the current den...

Re: Defining coils currents / five coils example
Dear Peter, I have tried to apply your example to 2 racetrack-shaped coils on iron support. The current density is impressed into the coils. Actually, I do not understand how to build the current density in the coil and I have just copied your example. Especially, I did not grasp the Body Force for ...

Re: Calculate magnetic energy
I have not replied to your question properly. You are the person who followed up on this technique. I have your thesis at hands!, good work and thanks the acknowledgments but I did not remember that we meant (the age!). Where are you working?, are located in Turkey? Best, Frederic Here is my email a...

Re: Calculate magnetic energy
Peter, Sorry, I made a mistake in the name of the variable in my *.sif file. The following code produces a result which has not been cross-checked yet, but it runs. The variable is "magnetic field density_abs". Thanks again, Frederic Header CHECK KEYWORDS Warn Mesh DB "." "....

Re: Calculate magnetic energy
Peter, I have tried something similar: Solver 3 Exec Solver = After All Equation = SaveScalars Procedure = "SaveData" "SaveScalars" Filename = "magneticEnergy.dat" Variable 1 = "Magnetic Field" ! I tried: "magnetic flux density_abs" as well without s...

Re: Calculate magnetic energy
Hi mzenker, I have tried to find a way to use SaveData ans SaveSaclars without success. How do I implement the magnetic energy calculation directly in Elmer sif file?, I am stuck there without any clues how to get the appropirate variable and so on. Header CHECK KEYWORDS Warn Mesh DB "." &...
