Re: Run ElmerGUI ECMAScript without opening ElmerGUI and ElmerVTK postprocessor

Hi, I don't know to what extent ElmerPost is scriptable. It is outdated anyway. ParaView can execute Python scripts, but I don't know if it can automatically generate images without firing up the GUI. gmsh also has a postprocessor and is scriptable, and Elmer's ResultOutputSolver can write gmsh post...

Re: Simple Pipe Acoustics - the very basics

Hi,

I don't think you have to reinstall since it is only complaining about missing ElmerPost - this is the old postprocessor which is superseded by ParaView, so you don't need it.

Re: Simple Pipe Acoustics - the very basics

Thank you both Peter and Mathias, I ran it from the Command prompt as suggested and received the exact same error message as captured in the attached image. Did you use the unchanged sif file from the download or did you run from the command line after having tried to do it with the GUI? That will ...

Re: Simple Pipe Acoustics - the very basics

Hi, I have quickly re-run the case with the files posted by JoeD. I did it from the command line - just cd to the project directory and type ElmerSolver. Then it runs without error. If I open the project in ElmerGUI and run it, I get the error you reported. I don't have the time right now to find ou...

Re: Parallel solver settings on Windows machine

That is what I also do. I almost never install non-M$ software into the default programs directory, but into something like C:\myprograms. Another example: In ElmerGUI, you may need to move solver xml files from ...\edf-extra to ...\edf. You cannot do that as ordinary user if Elmer is installed in C...

Re: Permanent ring-magnet: axi-symmetric

Hi,

I have never done magnetic simulations myself, but I would not expect the Mgdyn2D solver to work in 3D - you might want to check in the models manual.

Re: ERROR:: StatElecSolve: No > Relative permittivity < found! Error with ELMER GUI tutorial 8

It seems that the material property "relative permittivity" is missing. It is often not contained in the materials in the material library, you need to add it yourself.

Re: Elmergrid doesn't open

Hi, to create a mesh you can * use ElmerGrid format - see tutorials for worked examples * use gmsh, define a geometry, mesh it, save it in msh format (version 2) and convert it with ElmerGrid 14 2 filename.msh - or open it directly with ElmerGUI (File - open) * use Salomé, define a geometry, mesh it...
