Salome geometry import issues in Elmer GUI
Hello everyone, Most likely I am (again) doing something wrong, thus I need some help. I am modeling a PCB microstrip (a small planar copper, parallel to a large reference plane of copper, separated by a dielectric as seen in the first pic), as I want to get its capacity in report to the reference p...

UNV import issues (again)
Hello everyone, I am trying to test a simple scenario of current flow, with 3 bodies, different resistivity. The problem is, although face groups look ok, the volume groups do not import as expected i.e. when I click them in Elmer GUI they do not select properly and by the behaviour of the simulatio...

Re: Static Current Conduction: temperature dependent Electric Conductivity?
Thanks, I was able to insert the table and preliminary results show a redistribution of the currents which indicates it works as expected. Pasting below the code to be inserted as a reference, approximate values. Variable Temperature Real 273 59.5e6 293 56.0e6 313 52.0e6 333 48.0e6 353 45.5e6 373 43...

Re: bug - Elmer crash when loadin unv file
thanks everyone,
I recreated a similar geometry and had it working. Probably all the problems you mentioned got fixed by having a clean geometry.
regards
Catalin

Re: Elmer GUI 9.0 does not properly load materials
Thanks for confirming the bug. However, the bug shows also without the mesh update being active. is there any way I can provide more details?

Re: Elmer GUI 9.0 does not properly load materials
Not sure what you mean but I guess it is active as per pic below. I need to remember how to disable the tab, so I'll be back tomorrow with clarifications.

Static Current Conduction: temperature dependent Electric Conductivity?
Right now (in GUI, 9.0) only a fixed value for Electric Conductivity is allowed for Static Current Conduction. Is there a way to use a temperature dependent value, which can be very useful if Calculate Joule Heating is enabled, eventually coupled to Heat Equation?

Elmer GUI 9.0 does not properly load materials
I noticed the materials do not load properly when using GUI In C:\Program Files\Elmer 9.0-Release\share\ElmerGUI\edf\egmaterials.xml I see for example: <material name="Copper (generic)" > <parameter name="Density" >8960.0</parameter> <parameter name="Youngs modulus" >11...
