Hi Peter,
Radiation boundaries are set to 'open'. (Diffuse Gray). I'm working from ElmerGUI.
That's why the warning confused me.
File attached, if you could not recreate the issue.

WARNING:: ViewFactors: Rowsum of view factors should not be smaller than one!
Hello, I seem to get this warning (WARNING:: ViewFactors: Rowsum of view factors should not be smaller than one!) in the log on every simulation involving the calculation of viewfactors. The simulation results seem ok. Moreover: isn't it the opposite? The rowsum should be smaller (or equal to) one. ...

Bug? ElmerGrid creates 0Dim boundariies from msh file
Hello, I created a very simple mesh in GMSH. Created the Elmer mesh with ElmerGrid. I get "Program received signal SIGSEGV: Segmentation fault - invalid memory reference." in ElmerGUI, using this mesh. I tracked down the origin of the error and it seems to be that ElmerGrid creates 0DIM bo...

ElmerGUI not correctly importing GMSH mesh
Hi, I created a msh file in GMSH and tried to import it. I got things like: - "File type determined by suffix: 14" (which is ok). - several "Physical groups of dimension 2 not supported in 0-dimensional mesh: ignoring group ... "(??) - several "untreated command; [numbers]&q...

Re: Heat radiation
Hi Peter, I was more referring to kevinarden about the hostility. I now installed the VirtualBox version. I seem to be one step further (viewfactors are calculated) but still don't get results (see below). The project files are in this thread. Do you know of a simple example file with grey radiation...

Re: GebhardtFactors.exe gives error
Thanks Raback, I kinda concluded that from my search. It is just that a project gave errors when running and I thought I might be able to narrow done the origin of the problem by executing the separate steps: Viewfactors.exe, GerhardtFactors.exe ... But if I understand you correctly this is not poss...

Re: Heat radiation
Hi, My questions: 1/ I get an error (see below). I read something of the need to define the Gebhardt factors when using diffuse grey. Doens't Elmer calculate those? No clear answer as of yet, not in this forum not in the documentation. 2/ how to know what units the entered data is in? Answered throu...

Re: Heat radiation
Hi kevinarden: Could you explain why you think I did not do that? Except for the source code. Requiring a user to go through the source code for simple questions (see previous posts) seems to me a bit exaggerated. Could you point to the solution(s), if it is al that well documented? I do not underst...

Re: Runnning viewfactors.exe from the commandline
Thank you kevinarden,
I changed the working directory (cd path in Windows Command terminal) to my project folder and then ran viewfactor.exe by typing the complete path ""C:\Program Files\Elmer 8.4-Release\bin\ViewFactors.exe" and that worked perfect.
