Re: Problem to display results from second order elements

mesh.header file says they are 303 and 504 elements

1125 606 284
2
303 284
504 606

The mesh.element file says they are 510 type
the mesh.boundary file says they are 306 type

Re: Smart Heater Control

I thought the smart heater control was just an on/off switch to attempt to maintain a set temperature tolerance. There is some information in the models manual on the smart heater. Not sure it is actually regulating the heat source, other than on/off. https://www.nic.funet.fi/pub/sci/physics/elmer/d...

Re: Output Heat Source Value

For some variables you have to declare the type

try

Body Force Parameters = Integer 1

Re: Accuracy of Electrostatic Solver for E-field

In FEM, increased mesh density (more nodal points) and or the use of higher order elements, increase accuracy.

Re: Terminal BC

I should state the the test problem is quadratic elements, I changed it for the example to make adding the internal boundary easier.

Re: Terminal BC

Should not matter if it is an internal or external boundary if the mesh is not discontinuous at the internal boundary, Internal boundaries can be attached to both bodies. I have attached the current test case as is, and one with an internal boundary. If you want a discontinuous boundary you can use ...

Re: Eigen value analysis

You can use ElmerGrid in windows. You have to open a command window and type in the command. The path depends on where you the program but the command is ElmerGrid.exe if you do a search. If you have the path set to elmer as described in https://www.nic.funet.fi/pub/sci/physics/elmer/doc/GetStartedE...

Re: Eigen value analysis

This time running ElmerGrid with the merge command. Salome also has a merge command. In the past I have plotted the deformed structure and you can usually see the disjointed parts flying away.
