Re: Adaptive Meshing in 3D ?
This is an important topic for 3D electromagnetics. I ran into the exact same problems - i also use salome (only useful mesh generator for complex parts with multiple objects) There is currently no solution i know to di adaptive meshing - but this could br the last step to make elmer a real alternat...

Re: 2 questions - magnetodynamics / whitney elements
I still cannot get the result, but need to do some experiments first to see how we can home in on the problem.
in the meantime, the result with uCore=10 (this is realistic by the way)

Hi Peter,
Thank you for fixing the stat current solver Bug..
any idea why the flux values dont seem to be correct?
Mike

2 questions - magnetodynamics / whitney elements
Hello All, I have put together a "reference" case, with which to test the magnetodynamics/whitney elements solver. Elmer project folder: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1102403/elmer_projects/ironcore.tar.gz Salome study: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1102403/elmer_projects/Study_Ironcore.hdf It is a cl...

Current Solver Test
Hi All, This is a complete file package with which you can test the CurrentSolve solver. Current through a AWG20 wire is solved for, when applying 0.1V. The Whitney EM solver is also used to calc the resulting magnetic field. To make sure my models were being correctly calculated, I modelled the fol...

Nonlinear B-H material with Whitney Sover - howto implement?
Hi All, I would like to take the next steps with the Whitnes solver and incorporate a material that saturates magetically. Basically, this is the case with all ferromagnetic materials... I have read on the forum that it's possible, but there does not seem to be an instruction. How can I model a simp...

Re: WhitneyAV 3D coupled current emag of a coil
Hi Daniel, I do have a question regarding your example: I noticed in the sif file that you specify the current in two ways: 1) using "Current Control = Real 12.5 , as well as 2) specifying the potentials at the wire ends, "Potential = 0.001" and "Potential = 0.0" - this, tog...

Re: WhitneyAV 3D coupled current emag of a coil
Thank you Daniel! I made liberal use of your sif file in the example i just posted here: http://www.elmerfem.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2053 ...spend a long time last year trying to get acquainted with Elmer, and playing with the Whitney solver - while Juha was working out the bugs :) It look...

1st of all the thank-yous: - Elmer team (esp Juha and Peter for the hours spent getting the Whitney solver to run - Salome team - Pascal Krezel for the Salome pipe constructor: http://www.code-aster.org/forum2/viewtopic.php?id=14869 - Daniel Boyle for the well-executed sif file: http://www.elmerfem....
