Thermal Modal Analysis
Hi Everyone, I would like to launch a thermal modal analysis. Is it possible? I have added the "eigenvalue" analysis commands to the heat equation :D but they might not be compatible... I get the following error: ERROR:: IterSolve: Failed convergence tolerances. ERROR:: EigenSolve: Error w...

Re: natural convection
Hi Michelle, I found this case.sif file among the different examples that are stored at the "tests" elmer folder. The test is called "Natural Convection". In it you can see how the gravity is defined. Regarding to the natural convection problem, I was wondering if it is possible ...

Re: GMSH-Physical Lines & Elmer
Hi Personally I never define any physical groups but choose "Save all (ignore physical quantities)". Then the lines have been saved without problems. -Peter Hi peter, I was wondering how you identify your goal-lines among all the lines after exporting your mesh to elmer. Thanks in advance...

Re: multi grid error
Hi peter, Thanks for your repply. I have read the Meshing Utilities chapter and added the necessary command to the .sif file. Elmersolver now correctly splits the mesh although sometimes it crashes. This is probably due to the mesh¿?, as depending on it sometimes elmer runs until the assembly part. ...

Re: multi grid error
Hi Everyone, I've been trying to use the Multigrid option as a preconditioner but i didnt make it work since either it always crashes or i get the following message: ERROR:: LoadMesh: Unable to load mesh: ./mgrid2 or ERROR:: LoadMesh: Unable to load mesh: ./mgrid3 I wrote the following commands in t...

Modal Analysis->Iterative Method?
Hi everyone, I've done recently some linear static analyses of a model with 532301 tetrahedral elements of 1st order. It took Elmer about 15minutes to finish each analysis using the following parameters in the solver: Solver Optimize Bandwidth = True Steady State Convergence Tolerance = 1.0e-7 Linea...

Re: Smitc solver – Where are the Eigenfrequencies?
Hi
Thank you for your fast answer.
I'm using Elmer in Windows installed from the binary, and since I am working with a restricted computer, I cannot install "MinGW and MinSYS".
How often are the binaries in the SourceForge actualized?
Thanks for all
Supituki

Re: Smitc solver – Where are the Eigenfrequencies?
Hi, I've been trying to save the eigenvalues but i've been unsuccessful. I have tried several time writing the commands in different places but ElmerSolver Crashes. I wrote the following: 'Solver 2'; 'Equation = SaveScalars'; 'Exec Solver = After saving'; 'Procedure = "SaveData" "Save...
