I think you are refering with your PS to my case.
I will send you in my thread an instruction how to merge the three split files.
With the latest svn version of Elmer "Revision 4298" the segmentation fault does not occur anymore .

here are the split files of the UNV mesh test case generated by 'split -b 1000000 test.unv.gz'.
Please merge them first before unzipping.
