Hello all,

I was using Ubuntu based distros and there were little things that were bottering me. So I wanted to try a different platform and encountered a problem with Mumps. Is there a way to know which platforms are already completly suitable for using Elmer FEM (even if it is the compiled version).

Hi! To check which platforms are supported by Elmer FEM software, you should refer to the official documentation at elmerfem.org. The site usually provides detailed instructions on how to install and use the program on various operating systems. You can also find user discussions in the elmerfem.org forum about which platforms have been used successfully with Elmer FEM, and ask your question to the community if you don't find the information you need .

Virtual machine
There is a Linux Ubuntu based virtual machine (VM) for Oracal VirtualBox available at
http://www.nic.funet.fi/pub/sci/physics ... alMachines

The VM is huge in size but provides a certified user experience. This is often used at courses to give not only a fresh Elmer version, but also a complete installation of related tools such as gmsh and Paraview.
