is there a maximum size of a *.msh-file of gmsh to be saved as a project in elmer?

in gmsh a wrote out a *.msh-file and loaded it in elmer.

after the definition of equation (14 bodies), materials (quantity of 4), body force and boundary condition (280 boundaries) a saved it as a project. by copying the *.msh-file into the project an error report (see bleow) appeared and elmer was closed.
this happened at a size of the gmsh *.msh-file of 60MB or greater.

is there a way in elmer to handle a gmsh *.msh-file with an extended size?

thanks a lot

Does this same happen if you transform the mesh by stand-alone ElmerGrid by saying "ElmerGrid 14 2 mesh.msh -out elmerdir"? You could try to open the the mesh files the with ElmerGUI in "Load Mesh". We haven't probably used so large gmsh files so we have to test where the problems might be.

hello peter,

thanks a lot for your quick answer.

I tried to do so as a suggested. But there is always the same mistake, even at *.msh-files which are smaller than those, who I can directly transformed into an elmer project.

elmer always crashes at the same moment. elmer founds edges on the boundary, but can't continue.
I put a screen-shot for you as an attachment (the *.msh-file has a size of about 33MB, at the direct way I can convert files with a size of nearly 60MB). the error report is the same as at my first question.

thanks a lot
