Where is Magnetodynamics2d?

Hi,

I have installed Elmer7.0-rev6064-2013-02-15 on my windows 7 computer but don't have the magnetodynamics2d.xml file in the edf-extra folder, so I can't go through tutorial 5. How do I get this program file, or did I improperly install it?

it also seems that the horseshoe directory needed for this tutorial is not in ElmerTutorialFilesGUI.tar.gz.
The tutorial seems to be rather new, maybe it was forgotten to upload the files...?

I too am interested in learning to set up and solve magnetostatic problems. I do not see any response to your post, other than a confirmation that the Linux distribution also lacks the files necessary to follow the only tutorial example with respect to magnetostatic problems . Have you received any other feedback ?

The tutorial is unfortunately fresher than the Windows installer in the sf.net. There is some small annoying problem with the Windows installer build that the ElmerPost does not work and it complains about some missing glaux.dll and we haven't made the effort to resolve the issue. You can find some fresher installer in:

You might try the newest virtual machine or the newest Windows installer under "tmp". It is there since the ElmerPost does not work but you can always use Paraview or the build-in VTK widget.

The files have been already for months in the repository and should be in fresh builds. Unfortunately there aren't many out.

You could try the freshest windows binary in
http://www.nic.funet.fi/pub/sci/physics/elmer/bin/tmp/
Unfortunately there is an unresolved issues with glaux.dll library needed by ElmerPost and therefore the official binary in sf.net has not been updated. You can avoid it by using other postprocessing tools.

You can also try the WMWare virtual machine that we use for courses. It really has a smooth environment.

Remember though that if you need 3D magnetodynamics you should use the Whitney element based solver. The nodal elements should not be used for 3D problems.

good to know where fresh binaries can be found!
However, the tutorials files are not part of the binary distribution, and the directory "horseshoe" is still not in http://www.nic.funet.fi/pub/sci/physics ... GUI.tar.gz...
