Hi Forum
I am a n00bie in using Elmerr, and I would like to know wether it is possibe to perform a Finite elements linear elasticity od a structure built of several components in Elmer.
I wish to assign different material properties, a boundary condition of contact with friction between the components, as well as the most "traditional" boundary conditions ( prescribed displacements linear and/or angular ) as well as loads.
Is this possible...?
what is wish to know is :
Can Moments be specified in Elmer ?
Can a multi material analysis be assigned ? if it can, will it allow for a sliding connection model or will it be modeled as rigid connection ?
Can Dynamic analysis be performed ( implicit, explicit ) ?
Can Eigen analysis be performed ( Critical Buckling Load, Vibration modes ) ?
this is all ... for now...

Re: Multi Material, multi component elastic analysis
Hi
Multiple bodies with different material parameters is no problem. However, there is no proper contact model, nor contact friction. Steady, dynamic (implicit) analysis and eigenmode analysis is also ok.
