ElmerGui can open a 3d model but cannot generate mesh

I want to analysis the temperature distribution in such a complex chamber ( see attachment).
ElmerGui can import the file and generated a 3D model in geometry viewer, but cannot generate a mesh file.
Can anybody help me to figure out this problem?

I use Debian and the elmer version is 5.5.0.svn.4262.dfsg-1.

Best regards,

It seems that elmer cannot generate mesh when two objects are contacted with eachother.

I've had the same experience. Posted my results under External Tools -> FreeCAD and ElmerGUI.

Does netgen have the capability to mesh two bodies with an interface between them? If so, it should be possible to get Elmer to do this properly...

It seems that Elmergui cannot manage multiple objects.
I imported a step file in which there are two apart objects.
However Elmergui recognized them as one body.
I think this is the cause of the Elmergui cannot import contacted objects, It is just too complex when one object has two contacted surfaces.
