Producing a picture of matrix structure

Hello,

is there an easy way to produce picture of matrix structures:

I know one can hack his way through any problem in the world of Elmer an FOSS but I mean a tool that has been successfully used in past.

Hi

Say "Dump System Matrix = File a.dat" in Solver section and use Matlab or similar to plot (i,j) indexes.

Hi

Note that what you get will be greatly affected if you have "Optimize Bandwidth = True" or "False". True is the default but False would better reflect the mesh structure and discretization behind the matrix. Also for many of the current solvers the optimization does not do much good.
