Hello Elmer user,
I have some difficult in simulate magneto static analisys with Whitney element. The simulation goes well but at the end of the first iteration I obtain a "Segmentation fault".
The same simulation with magnetostatic solver runs well, but the results are evidently wrong. The magnetic flux goes out from the iron core.
The mesh files is too big to be uploaded.
What I'm wrong in both cases? There are some errors in the sif files?
Thanks in advance, regards,
Alex

Re: Magneto Dynamic with Whitney Elements
Hi Alex
Some quick advice:
Don't use the StatMagSolver in 3D: it does not fulfill the Coulomb Gauge.
The Whitney solver is best solved by using preconditioner "none" as the field is not uniquely determined it does not have an ILU. Krylov method will find a solution and the computed Magnetic field intensity is unique.

Re: Magneto Dynamic with Whitney Elements
I have changer the iterative method to BiCGStab with ILU=None, but I'm still noticed the segmentation fault.
In your opinion, are the solvers and bc well set?

Re: Magneto Dynamic with Whitney Elements
Hi
Sorry, didn't look the BCs that carefully. They seem fine to me. Of course difficult to know without the mesh. Perhaps you could share the output. Also you could try to take the output of the .ep file away, and also take out solvers by "exec solver = never" to better located the problem. It is not clear to me where the error takes place and there are really tons of places where it can happen.

Re: Magneto Dynamic with Whitney Elements
I found this light model that could be upload. Also for this I notice a segmentotion fault, the some error!
It is a simple coil in air space.
Thanks in advance, Alex
