mechano-acoustic coupling

Post by iczajka »

I want to analyse interior space of a rectangular box. I wonder if it is posible to have elastic walls for helhmoltz equation. Excitation is in form of acoustic pressure in particular point inside box.

So I want to analyse elastic box with sound source inside.

Do You think it is possible? And How?

I am working on a similar problem. I believe this can be done through coupled structural-fluid-acoustics (Elastic-Navier Stokes-Acoustics) technique. Not sure if you have already tackled the problem. Let me know how did it go.

Becouse I was in hurry, I did it in Ansys. So, if You find any solution, it will be appreciated. :)

Hi

At least hierarchical coupling from acoutic to elastic, or elastic to acoustic should be possible rather easily (when you know what you're doing...). Perhaps we could write a minimalistic example some day. Seems to be a recurring wish.
