I named the volumes and surfaces so that the come out as separate boundaries in ElmerGUI

Thanks a lot, I was able to select separate boundaries in ElmerGUI after meshing the geo file you sent.
So the correct method is to create physical surfaces on the geometry rather than the mesh.
Next I will try contact analysis from the reference of Github files.

hello again, thanks for the assistance so far.
I studied some of the Contact3d... and Mortar3d... test cases available in Github as well as ElmerSolver manual. Based on them I made some simulation runs by modifying the sif file each time. But apparently the results do not seem to be correct. I believe I am missing some keyword or wrongly using them. Also the results appear in 2d each time.
One keyword that I could be missing is maybe Lagrange Multiplier name, but I dont know what to enter there.
If it is not too much trouble, could you take a look at it?

PS the last 4 simulation runs are the recent ones.(Newolder4,5,6,7,8)

Did you try serial first?
The "Lagrange Multiplier name" should have no relevance. If name is not given a default name is used. I think there are options in case one would have several pieces.
