Problem Importing a step file

Hello,
Is there a restriction on the file size of the step file that can be imported in ElmerGUI? I tried opening a step file which is over 2.2 MB in Elmer and ElmerGUI closes itself.

I don't know if there is a limit, but usually this happens when there is an issue with the input file.

Try opening a terminal or command prompt and start ElmerGUI from inside the window. The console output may give a clue to the issue.

By default if you open a step file in ElmerGUI it si going to try and mesh it. That sounds like a large completed step file to try and mesh. ElmerGUI is not the best meshing program. You could try to deactivate the automatic meshing.
