Save Data on a Boundary

Post by jleman »

Is there a way to export tabular results data for a specific boundary? For example in tutorial 6 (capacitance between two spheres), would there be a way to export the electric field magnitude or perhaps the electric flux as calculated for each node of the mesh on the surface of the spheres? I see the SaveScalar option, but I do not see how to specify results for a particular boundary.

Hi

SaveLine does this but whereas for 1D entities the result is a pretty line for 2D surfaces you have to make sense of the group of nodes yourself. So it might not be very helpful.

In VtuOutput you have some flag to save only boundaries. That may be handy if that is all you are interested about.

SaveScalars could sum of some entities or integrate over in a surface.
