Can I simulate Newtons Rings with Elmer? (Light)
Hello, I am currently taking a electromagnetism course in college and I need to simulate Newtons Rings ( monocromatic light into a lens) and visualize the difraction pattern, can I do it with Elmer? if so, please give me some ideas how. ( I know to model a lens using Gmsh).

Hi
This would basically be solver by VectorHelholtzSolver as complex valued electrical field. However, the wave number is easily so large that the simulation becomes impractical. In FE you need at least 10 elements per wave so you can calculate the number of elements requires in 2D and 3D.
