Mgdynamics solver does not compile in changed geometry

Post by Xan »

Hi all,

recently one of my students was modeling a zero-Gauss chamber (a place with no external magnetic field). External magnetic field (which was attenuated in the chamber) was modeled via the cylinder with proper boundary conditions.
The simulation was working fine when the chamber axis was paralel to the axis of magnetic field, as in example 1 (see attachment). When we wanted to simulate the real life situation (with proper placement of the chamber in respect to the axis of earth magnetic field) we had to "tilt" the cylinder a little bit (as in example 2). After that we cannot obtain convergence in the simulations which was working previously.

We could kindly appreciate any help.
