Hi, I'm new to Elmer. I would like to run a simple thermal simulation. However, I only have information on the thermal conductivity of the materials. Is that information suffice or do I need extra information on my material properties.
Thanks.
material for thermal/heat simulation
Re: material for thermal/heat simulation
Hi!
Heat eqn. besides heat conductivity includes heat capacity and density. So, if you do not specify these parameters, you will not be able to solve Heat eqn. correctly
Regards, Dmitry!

Re: material for thermal/heat simulation
Hi Karuna,
If you like to perform simulation in steady state, it is thermal conductance and boundary conditions for temperatures which u require for simulation.
In case you like to do transient simulation, then along with thermal conductivity and bcs , you also need density and specific heat capacity of the material as dmitry says.
Yours Sincerely,
Anil Kunwar
