I have installed Elmer 8.0-Release in 64 bit Windows 7 to do analyses of eigenfrequencies of mechanical structures. I would like to export the resulting mode shapes from ElmerPost.
In this forum I found that savempg is the plugin to use for this. viewtopic.php?f=8&t=273
I believe there should be a button or menu item on the right hand side of the window, but I can't find it.
Does anybody know how to activate or install it?

Re: savempg in ElmerPost not available
Hi
I suggest using Paraview. ElmerPost is not developed anymore. The savempg might be available in some compiled versions but we have no plans for supporting it.

Peter, thanks for your suggestion!
Took me some time to get the first animation going in Paraview, but I really like its flexibility and of course the animation export option.

Hi
Note that if you use ResultOutputSolver and vtu format you can use "Eigen Analysis" flag in that solver to enforce each eigenmode to be saved as a separate timestep. Makes treatment of many steps much easier.
