Using Dakota optimisation software with Elmer

Hi All,
I'm looking at trying to interface Elmer with Dakota https://dakota.sandia.gov/ and wondered if anyone else is using it who might be able to offer advice?
I've already produced my own application that generates parameterized geometry using gmsh from a table of possible input parameters, meshes it runs elmer, postprocesses the results then goes to the next geometry variant. So I know what I need to do but getting it to interface with Dakota is somewhat of a mystery at the moment.
Thanks in advance
Regards
Mark
