Paraview Color Map

Hi, Is there any way to increase the resolution in the color map? I plot the surface current density in two different geometries and I want to compare them. Since one is much bigger than the other, if I use an aceptable scale for, lets say, the bigger, I see the other as a constant color. Is there any way to avoid that? Having like more color intervals in a range?

Yes, there is an "edit color map" button. In the color editor, you will find a slider to increase the resolution. You can also try to uncheck "discretize" for a (quasi-) contiuous color gradient.

Thanks! But I think I have another problem. I have a 2D geometry solved in elmer in order to see the current density. But, when I go to elmer, it says that the units are in "volume current". Does it mean that is A/m3? I solve it with another fem software and the range between min and max values are different (the other software givs me the data in A/m2). Do you have any idea?

Hi,

I would expect the current density to be in A/m2, but I must admit that I have never quantitatively checked it.
A common source of errors is that the length units are not the same (e.g. m in Elmer, mm in the other software).
