[SOLVED] Visualization of Multiple Bodies(3D) Generated from

Post by chatpall »

Hi guys. I am using Salome.

I would like to ask you for some advices with creating multiple body insertion into Elmer. I am having one smaller box and one bigger box. The are "touching" with one side. It means the face of the bigger box touching the smaller box is only a section of the bigger box upper face.

I have tried to create multiple body model according to tutorial http://www.elmerfem.org/elmerwiki/index ... e_to_Elmer. But I did not obtain two bodies in Elmer.

Do I have to specify the contact face in any special manner?

Thank you very much for your time!!!

Hi,

could you post your Salomé study (or a python dump if it is too big)? If you create the geometry outside of Salomé, could you attach it? Then I can have a look at it and maybe find out what's wrong.

Hello Mattias,

I tried to attach salome file to the post, but with no success. How to attach it?

Thanks.

Hi,

principally you attach it in the same way you did for the picture above, except that you don't display it inline. If the file is larger than 2 MB, you can try to zip it. If it is still too large, then attach a Python dump of your study.

Hi,

I do get two bodies in Elmer. Here is what I did:

1. open your study in Salomé
2. start SMESH
3. select Mesh_1
4. File->Export->UNV file
5. open Mesh_1.unv in ElmerGUI (File->open)

Hi,

according to your video, you did the same as I did (except that I am under Windoze). I suspect a problem with your Elmer. If you zip your twobox.unv and post it here, I can see if my Elmer recognizes it correctly.
