Gmsh planar surface building crash

Hi,

I'm new in Gmsh and in Elmer. I'm trying to build simple geometries in Gmsh,
and when I arrive at defining a planar surface by its boundaries, Gmsh crashes.
(Viewport prompt: "Select hole boundaries (if none, press 'e')"). Right after
I press 'e', it crashes. In this case, the boundaries are lines between the nodes of a triangle or
a planar square, and the selected boundaries form a closed path.
The same crash happenened when I tried Gmsh under Linux. Anybody with
experience with this? Nice program (Gmsh), though.

Hi,

I use gmsh regularly and have not seen such a crash before.
Could you post a geo file reproducing the crash?
Remark: there is a gmsh mailing list where the gmsh gurus are - have a look at the gmsh website http://www.geuz.org/gmsh...

Right now I can't send you files, but it's just 3 points, and 3 lines between them.
I use the 2.7.1 version. Thank you for the link, I'll ask this there.

Bye

Hi,

try to open the geo file in the attachment. Then do Add->Plane Surface. Select the three lines, press e and you should have your surface. This works OK for me (Version 2.7.1, Windows XP). If it still crashes for you, your gmsh has a problem, and you should definitively ask on the gmsh list...

HTH,

Matthias
