Pointwise and Elmergrid

Post by ML3003 »

Hey Forum, is there anybody, who has experience in coupling pointwise with elmergrid? How can I use pointwise as preprocessor for elmer?
Thanks for all of your input!

Hi Markus

In what all formats can Pointwise export the mesh?

Problem with many commerical software is that they do not even like to support possible co-operation with OS tools and this is reflected in the possible output formats.

Hi

I think the only format that includes the necessary information would be FV-UNS. Also that is proprierety format but I googled that it is described in the FieldView manual. I'm rather surprised that there does not seem to be an existing mesh conversion route even for OpenFOAM. After all, is strongly used in CFD.

So having a documentation for the FV-UNS format would provide a starting point, but still this would have a rather low priority.
