Can anybody help me with CAD software for boat designs and building? I have skills in fibreglass application, plug and mold making and so I need a helper to ensure that everything is ok. I want to build a boat able to ferry 40 persons across the lake and do not have money for buying CAD software or any other.

Google Sketchup or Blender are both good free CAD packages. There are a number of free packages now available (Even FreeCAD).

Freecad is in my opinion here the more useful tool since it includes an own FEM workbench and uses gmsh for multi-body mesh generation. The successful combination with elmer was already shown and there are ideas to upgrade it the way SalomeElmerModule does.

If I remember well, FreeCAD should also have a ship module
