Code: Select all

and in addition, you have many examples under $ELMER_HOME\tests.
This was important. As I could not find them in ubuntu package, I went to download the sources and having found the directory and the Readme files of it, I believe I am pritty near to what I was seeking. - So to say. 8-) I mean hello worlds dealing with msh, vtu..

So next I can calmly study the sif files in advance. Thank you very much, had not found that without your help I believe.

One word to the GUI-NonGUI dualism: The beginner is tented to reconvert the sample sif-file to a GUI-Project-file form, cause there is where he was starting learning, is not he? And that is not possible, right? So there is where he loses track, imho.

One more question:

Code: Select all

find ~/elmerfem/fem/tests -name "*.sif"|xargs grep "\!.Post"|wc
     69 347 5647
Why are so much Postfile uncommented? Are they defunct?

Writing of Post files is supressed because the tests check consistency of the norm of the results which does not need written output. It just generates additional I/O. -Peter

Hm, sometimes however you check the entire ep-file.
so anyway: in uncommented state the ep-files are supposed to be valid, right?

Hi, I also have a problem with ElmerPost.
First it worked properly. Now when I start ElmerPost I see only black and grey window (as in att.) I know that I can use VTK and PV but I wanted to ask how I can repair it.
