Pressure values within a volume

Post by axl »

Hi,
Im using ElmerGUI with ElmerPost for calculating sound pressures. My geometry is a sphere in a box, but I only get values at the surfaces of the box and of the sphere. My goal is to get values in the volume. I still tried to change Edit->ObjectClipPlanes but there are no values in the volume at all. The volume is meshed, but I cant see the mesh after importing from gmsh to ElmerGUI! Only the mesh of the surfaces.

Thank you for your help!

Hi,

to check if the volume mesh has been imported, you can

* open Model-> Summary and check if it says that there are volume elements
* select View -> Volume mesh and check if it displays a volume mesh.

Hi Matthias,

thank you for the fast and helpful reply! There are meshes within the volume.

But I still cant find the option to see the values within the volume!

Hi,

in ElmerPost:

* Display -> Contour Surfaces
* in the "isosurfaces" box:
- increase the number of isosurfaces
- contour variable: nodes_x (if your clip plane is in x)
- color variable: the variable you want to see
- surface style: surface
* don't forget to click "Apply"... ;)
