ElmerPost File

Post by gautamr »

Hey guys, i'm fairly new to Elmer, and i was wondering how one reads the data in the ElmerPost files. I'm using the electrostatic solver, and looking to run a regression on one of the isocontours of potential to see how circular the shape is, is there a way to do this in elmer? or a way to identify all the points on that isocontour in the .ep file,
cheers

Hi

See App. C in ElmerSolver Manual

You could also use auxiliary solvers (see Models Manual):
  • ResultOutputSolver to write data for VTK based visualization
  • IsosurfaceSolver to extract just the isocontours for saving
All manuals may be found at http://www.nic.funet.fi/pub/sci/physics/elmer/doc/

thanks a lot, but i'm having a few issues with the isosurface solver, the output has some null entries, hence its not being opened by either elmerpost or paraview, any ideas why that would be so?
