Hi.
I am working with a turbulence flow across a rotating cylinder and i am new with elmer. I do not realize how to set angular velocity. I was wondering if someone could help me.
Thanks.
(Sorry if the post is not in the correct section).

Hi,
there is a keyword for that, see Models Manual, chapter 2.
If you use ElmerGUI, you can use the free text field in the Body Force window.

Hi
Note that turbulence + rotating frames is probably unknown territory. There indeed exists a rotating frame for Navier-Stokes but that has not been extensively used, to my knowledge. There is a consistency test named "RotatingFlow".

Ok. I found some papers online, but i am still reading to solve it. Thanks

I want to know if i am doing in the right way.
In the Boundary Conditions - Navier Stokes. I set "Use normal-tangential coordinate system", and then i put the angular velocity i wanted in Velocity 3 (z axis).
It is ok?

I don't know, I did not use the Navier-Stokes solver yet.
If you still have questions after reading the corresponding chapter in the Models manual, then someone with more knowledge on Navier-Stokes has to take over...
