[SOLVED]convergence history view window missing

Post by chatpall »

Hi guys.

I am running ElmerGUI (installed according steps in wiki, Ubuntu 14.04) but within running solver I am missing convergence history window. Do you see any reason why?

Thank you very much!

P.

Hi Chatpall,
Have you installed Elmer using Cmake?

Gentlemen,
i miss the convergence history window too.
My system is UBUNTU MATE 18.04 LTS.
I forgot how i installed my Elmer, perhaps using sudo apt-get install or using the synaptic.
2 ears ago on WIN 7 professional it worked fine.
Best regards,
Ulrich

Hi,

if you don't know how you installed Elmer, and when... it might help to just reinstall it:

sudo apt-add-repository ppa:elmer-csc-ubuntu/elmer-csc-ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install elmerfem-csc-eg

Thank you so much Matthias,
but sorry, it did not help.

Could it have to to with java?
I checked "dpkg -S libjava.so" and i got this answer:
openjdk-11-jre-headless:amd64: /usr/lib/jvm/java-11-openjdk-amd64/lib/libjava.so
openjdk-8-jre-headless:amd64: /usr/lib/jvm/java-8-openjdk-amd64/jre/lib/amd64/libjava.so
openjdk-9-jre-headless:amd64: /usr/lib/jvm/java-9-openjdk-amd64/lib/libjava.so

Best regards,

Hi Ulrich,

AFAIK ElmerGUI does not use Java.
Have you checked Run->Show convergence?

Hi

In your build script do you have

Code: Select all

-DWITH_QWT:BOOL=TRUE \
QWT is the open source library that makes the plots. I would guess its written in C++ using Qt.

Hi Peter,

recently I installed Elmer on Ubuntu 18.04 at home by using the apt-get command with the package elmerfem-csc-eg. The menu item in ElmerGUI to activate showing the convergence graphs is missing (Run --> Show convergence). Is this intended?

Thanks and Greetings,
Thomas.
