Do you have any other ideas?
I have no clue about what I should do, all the other formats didn't work as well
Elmer and GMSH on MacOS
Re: Elmer and GMSH on MacOS
As I wrote in the other post: load the file with gmsh and export it in gmsh2 ASCII format. I tried it with your Novo.msh and could open it with ElmerGUI.

You can also change mesh.format to 1. This will save it to msh format version 2 (instead of 4) automatically when you do file->save mesh. I have just verified that ElmerGUI can read it.kevinarden wrote: ↑27 Feb 2019, 01:12 Go to GMSH help. current options and workspace, search for mesh.format, change it to a value of 2, goto file save mesh, GMSH will then save it as a *.unv file that ElmerGUI ro ElmerGrid can read.

Hi I'm new to Elmer and Gmsh, same problem here with Elmer 8.3 precompiled for windows64.mzenker wrote: ↑01 Mar 2019, 11:26You can also change mesh.format to 1. When execute ElmerGrid from cmd line to translate .msh to *.mesh I get the following:
run-time error...
allocation failure 2 in imatrix()
...now exiting to system...
I solve it with the recomendations of this post, mesh.format = 2
Now in ElmerGUI, when I want to set the Boundaries with Set boundaries property, double click on the body terminates the GUI unexpectedly.
Fortunately I can set boundaries from Model -> Boundary Cond. menu.

Re: Elmer and GMSH on MacOS
I have had that problem, I have worked around it by using ElmerGrid from the command line to translate the unv
Elmer Grid 8 2 mymesh.unv
Elmer Grid 8 2 mymesh.unv
Re: Elmer and GMSH on MacOS
Yes that's works.kevinarden wrote: ↑02 Mar 2019, 00:22 I have had that problem, I have worked around it by using ElmerGrid from the command line to translate the unv

Now I have another issue, when try to load the mesh from ElmerGUI it crash.
How can I see why this is happening? Is there a log file to check
ElmerGrid output before ElmerGUI
Elmergrid saving data with method 2:
-------------------------------------
Saving mesh in ElmerSolver format to directory led_plate.
Reusing an existing directory
Saving 1275 coordinates to mesh.nodes.
Saving 3516 element topologies to mesh.elements.
Saving boundary elements to mesh.boundary.
Saving header info to mesh.header.

Re: Elmer and GMSH on MacOS
ElmerGrid puts the mesh into a sub-directory, did you load the one from the sub-directory?
If you can post the unv file I can try it here.

Thanks, really!kevinarden wrote: ↑03 Mar 2019, 00:29 ElmerGrid puts the mesh into a sub-directory, did you load the one from the sub-directory?

Yes I try to load from the correct sub-dir, attached is the .unv file

Still not working, anyway, the solution I've found was working on a virtual machine and after it using paraview to see the results.
Thanks anyway

led_plate.zip works fine on my installation.
