problem with multibody simulation (capacitance)

Post by gix »

dear All

I tried a new strategy generating a mesh file with autodesk nastran(student version) case.nas then I convert with gmesh in case.unv and then inporto in Elmer.
things seem to be going better but I have problems because the two central bodies pipe+flow and the low potential electrode +cover (bodies on the right) do not communicate with the rest remaining isolated
the part being studied is exactly that, so that's a problem.
Someone knows how to help me.
thanks in advance

Hi,

you need to make a mesh that is conformal, i.e. the interfaces between bodiesare connected having identical nodes. I don't know how to do that in Nastran. Both gmsh (with the OpenCascade geometry kernel) and Salomé have that functionality.
