Plate 2D mesh

Hello
I'm trying to create a simple plate 2d mesh. I have created it using Gmsh and converted it using ElmerGrid. The mesh is attached and here is its picture.
I have two problems.
First problem is that I cannot define the plate thickness. Please teach me how to define it.
Second problem is that I cannot define a pressure normal to the plate surface. Please teach me how to define this pressure.
