Physical length scale in GUI

Postby Captain Slow » 16 Nov 2009, 18:43

Hello there,

I am using Elmer to visualise some flows using the Navier Stokes equation. In the tutorials it appears that density, viscosity and velocity of the fluid are in SI units (which is nice :) ) but I can find no reference to scale of the drawing. By this I mean something on the GUI that indicates how big 1 metre (or equivalent), from which I could scale my mesh accordingly.

I have drawn my mesh to the correct proportions for my problem, it just needs re-scaling as this is obviously rather important for the Reynolds number (which incorporates a typical length).

Help gratefully recieved!

Hi John

I don't know if this helps you but you can get the size of your bounding box from ElmerGUI
Model -> Summary... -> BOUNDING BOX

Thankyou, it helps as it confirms the co-ordinates but I wonder if there is a way to assign some units to these co-ordinates?
