windows 7 64bit : memory allocation error

Post by mark smith »

Hi
I'm using stresssolver with the BiCGStab iterative solver and the ILU* preconditioner. With ILU2 task manages shows that elmersolver is using 263Mb of memory, my system has 8Gb fitted. If I change to ILU4 then elmersolver exits with a memory allocation errror even though the taskmanager shows less than 200Mb being used befor exiting.
Although Elmersolver is a 32bit application can it not make use of 4Gb of my available ram? is there a switch or some other way to get it to make better use of my RAM?

Also I don't seem to be able to use quadratic quadrilateral elements with the Shell solver is this a limitation or am I doing something wrong?

Regards
mark
