Hi,
Can somebody explain me where Transmissivity coefficient is used on the heat equation / radiation model ?
Thanks for your help.

Hi
In Elmer, nowhere. There is currently no possibility model partly transparent materials.

Hi,
That's what I thought. My goal is to simulate the heat in a double/triple glazing window with a transmissivity for each glass. No way for that with elmer ?

Hi,
Elmer has a raytracing module called ParticleDynamics solver. I have never used it, but it is described in the models manual. Maybe it can serve to calculate the absorbed ratiation in each layer? Then you could use that as body force for the heat equation.
HTH,
Matthias
