I would like to use the Static Current Solver for calculating the current in a flat coil.
(These results will be used for further magnetics calculations)
I´ve created a mesh of the coil with salome. The geometry was meshed with hex volumes.
I tried to do a simple simulation of the current in the coil. The potential seems to be correct.
But the volume current takes on a very weird distribution. Also the calculated resistance is 10e5 times larger than what I´ve calculated. (and measured)
What is the reason for this behaviour? With a smaller model everything seems to work fine.
Unfortunately I can´t attach the mesh since it is way too large. I´ve inspected the mesh with salome, and also ran the autoclean argument.
Since it is a structured hex mesh the mesh quality shouldn´t be a problem.

just a little Update:
The solver produces the correct result, it just converges very slowly. (It took me 280 Iterations)
The resistance now matches to 0.5% with the measurements.
The volume current distribution is also correct. Obviously the circumference is smaller on the inside of the spiral, and so is the volume resistance.
This is why the current density will be grater on this face of the spiral
