Air flow caused by pressure difference

Post by dekoder87 »

Hello,

I'm trying to simulate an air flow through a valve. I've got three boundaries walls, inlet and outlet.
The task is quite easy when I set velocity profile as my inlet condition and non slip walls BC.

When I tried setting my boundary conditions as pressure value on inlet and outlet and non slip walls BC Elmer is not calcuting correct flow and pressure in my model. In example I'm getting negative pressure inside the valve and no flow. How can I calculate flow using pressure difference as my input data?

I'll really appreciate any help,

Jacek

I've managed to run this simulation with compressible gas. I was struggling with convergence and many other issues in example it came out that even when I am not interested in temperature i need to apply temperature in initial condition and boundary condition in order to achieve convergence, when using ideal gas law compressibility model. I'm sharing my case.sif for anyone who can benefit from it when performing similar simulation.

Regards,

Jacek
