Remote mass load on a structure

Post by saikon »

I'm trying to perform a eigenvalue analysis on a test bench structure where the tested component rests on top of the test bench. To make the meshing easier and solving faster I would like to remove the tested component from the model but maintain it's effect on the vibration frequencies.

Is it possible to add a point mass load to specific boundaries for frequency analysis? What I am looking for is something like this: http://help.solidworks.com/2012/english ... e_Mass.htm. I don't know if remote mass is the correct term for something like that.
