Turbulent Flow with Heat Transfer

Post by kishpishar »

Dear Elmer Users,

I need to estimate the heat transfer into an immersed solid body from a reasonably turbulent stream flowing past. Standard k-epsilon model will be sufficient to model the turbulence. It is my understanding that thermal functions are not implemented in the Reichardt's wall law for the K-epsilon model. So, would it be sufficient to make a very fine near-wall mesh and use the K-epsilon model without the wall law (Noslip Wall BC = True) for my case?

Can experienced users comment please?
