Velocity term without introducing actual mesh deformation

Post by jay »

Hi Everybody

I am trying to simulate eddy current in 3D axial actuator. I got results for one condition when shaft is steady. Now I want to simulate with condition when shaft is rotating. For achieving that I thought of using feature of velocity in induced fields of shaft (Lorentz term), under which I will not have to deal with actual moving mesh interfaces. I read about this idea from COMSOL webpage where they have explained the example: http://www.comsol.com/blogs/modeling-ma ... tiphysics/ . Now I am more interested to know how can it be done in Elmer as i am using it for my thesis work.

I will grateful if anybody can provide me some hint or an idea that can help me to apply above logic.

Thanking you in advance for your time

Best Regards,
Jay
