Free surface periodic boundary conditions

Hi,

I want to apply periodic boundary conditions on a tilted slab (the ISMIP-HOM A experiment). Some years ago it was recommended to tilt the forces instead of the domain since there was some problem with free surface periodic boundary conditions. I was just wondering if this is still the case?
